The Illinois Library Association just released the February edition of its Reporter Magazine that includes an article written by blog author, Julie Tappendorf, titled Board Wars & Power Plays: Resolving and Avoiding Them. The article includes guidelines for dealing with and hopefully resolving battles over agendas, minutes, and meeting procedures. Even if your board is not currently battling, the article is worth a read as it contains tips for avoiding these battles in the future.

Another interesting article in this same issue deals with FOIA, and is a follow-up to the FOIA panel discussion at last year's ILA meeting in Springfield.
